5 houses - Bruno Gularte Barreto

The book 5 Casas (5 Houses), by Bruno Gularte Barreto, portrays the artist's search for his childhood memories 20 years after leaving the small town where he was born, in the countryside of Rio Grande do Sul.

This search takes place through an extensive work of personal archaeology, in which he collects fragments of his history, marked by the premature death of his parents. As he tries to reconstruct the memories of a past he has tried to forget, as if trying to forget the pain of loss, mourning and longing, he comes up against the complexities and contradictions of the very city where they lived, and will rediscover and portray a series of places and people that were important in his upbringing.

5 Casas is a partnership between Estranho Produções and Primeira Fila Produções for the publication of this book, conceived by Bruno Gularte Barreto, with introductory text by Alexandre Santos and editing by Azulejo Arte Impressa, graphic design by Amanda Teixeira (Azulejo Arte Impressa) and Daniel Eizirik (Riacho).

Hardcover book, 272 pages, Offset and Couche paper.
