Earth studies - Lilian Maus

The postcards Estudos sobre a terra: Herbarium and Inventário de Fauna e Flora ( Studies on the land: Herbarium and Inventory of Fauna and Flora ) were printed from watercolor paintings, photographs and texts developed during the artist's PhD research expedition to Paragem das Conchas (Osório/RS, Brazil), which took place between 2012 and 2016.
The artworks are based on a common rule: to wander around and observe the environment of a 13-hectare private plot of land stretching from the foot to the top of Morro da Borússia.
All the reference animals and plants were spotted there. In the Herbarium, the specimens collected and classified in botanical language help to tell a little about the history of human occupation of the land itself.

250g Kraft paper box, 180g Vivaldi paper envelope and 240g Chambril Offset postcards
